Bell's palsy exhibits certain symptoms that can distinguish it from other neurological illnesses. One of the main defining symptoms of Bell's palsy is that it is usually unilateral, or one-sided. This neurological disorder also only affects the facial areas, unlike a stroke, which can affect all of one side of the body (limbs and trunk included.) It is possible to contract Bell's palsy more than one time, although many patients are only affected once. Following is a list of general symptoms:
