Finding support when you have a chronic neurological illness like epilepsy can be daunting. It doesn't have to be if you know the facts....

As with any neurological illness, patients and their loved ones/ friends often need outside help to deal with their situations. Epilepsy is no exception. Reasons for support groups include:

Epilepsy support groups range from child, teen, and adult-oriented, to groups for parents or siblings of folks with epilepsy. Children's groups focus on socializing (feeling accepted and capable with similar kids), empathizing, and educational and recreational factors. Adult groups often focus on research, fund-raising, encouragement, and socializing. Groups for parents help with parenting skills and epilepsy educational implications.
