The National Multiple Sclerosis Society has designated this week as MS Awareness Week. Spread MS knowledge, awareness, and participate in events.
Ways to Get Involved Volunteer opportunities abound. You can volunteer your time at any of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society local chapters. Ways to donate your time and money include participating in fundraisers such as the MS Walk and MS Bike events. These happen annually in the spring. You can participate, form a team, and/or sponsor someone. For any of these opportunites, visit www.nmss.org. One other interesting way to make a difference is to use Windows Live Messenger when you want to send an instant message on the computer. Microsoft will donate a percentage of its revenue profits to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Advocacy There is an opportunity to let the U.S. Congress know you want more federal funding for M.S. research. There is a link at www.nmss.org where you can take action today. This is not just a United States alert; it is part of an international advocacy effort to stop the disease. Learn More About Multiple Sclerosis You can access the website www.nmss.org to learn more about the multiple sclerosis disease process, symptoms, latest research, and personal stories about MS. There is a "wall" where you can leave your personal mark. Another option is to visit www.faceofMS.org to tell your MS story. ****For more articles and discussions about MS, please visit the MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS Suite. ****For related information, check out the Neurological ARTICLE INDEX. ********************************************************************************************************
