There are several forms of counseling/ therapy for chronic headache pain. Patients and their friends and families can also receive online support and group counseling.


Headaches can take a definite toll on your emotional well-being. You should never be too proud to seek support and/or counseling. Therapists are professionals who have logical, unbiased answers to your questions. They are trained to listen and counsel. Oftentimes we lean heavily on family and friends for support, but they are partial and might not have the emotional stamina to keep us afloat. There are several types of therapists with different counseling specialties. A majority of health insurers cover such services.

Besides counseling, there are online and in-person support groups for patients, friends, and families. Foundations and societies can provide information as well. A great way for patients and their loved ones to vent is to join a message board for headache suffers. Check out various ways to help headache suffers and yourself.
