There are opportunities to volunteer or intern for the non-profit Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Do you have the goal to work or volunteer for an important cause? Does Parkinson's Disease have a special meaning or interest for you? Perhaps you'd really like to experience New York City....If these values ring true for you, you'll probably want to know more about volunteering or interning for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. This non-profit was founded in 2000 after Fox announced his battle with the disease and retired from the series "Spin City." He has since then put much of his time and effort into developing new events/fundraisers for the foundation. The MJFF has raised over $50 million for Parkinson's Disease since it was founded.

Unpaid internships and volunteer work are available through the foundation. Since it is located in Manhattan, you must live in the metro New York area. Computer proficiency and a commitment of eight hours per month are necessary for volunteering, and above-mentioned computer skills, oral and written communication skills, and multi-tasking are necessary for interning. For more information on these opportunities and the foundation, contact: The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
