» 444456 - bells plasy

Hi

My docotors mentioned bells plasy in a recent visit to the doctors as my left hand side of my face was going numb and I had terrible pain in my left ear region. I am awaiting a MRI scan at the momment, however, recently I am experiencing alot of saliva and also I seem to be slurring my words alot.

Could the new symptons be anything to do with the diagnosis of possible bells plasy?

Thanks

Julie

Hi Julie---
Bell's Palsy is caused by damage to the 7th cranial nerve. All of these problems you have (ear pain, facial numbness, mouth weakness/slurring, and saliva/drooling) are symptoms of Bell's Palsy. I hope you are correctly diagnosed soon, and if you have Bell's Palsy, it is treatable. Good luck and check back to let me know how you're doing!
